Introduction

Geomorphometrics are measures of the geometry, topography, shape or form of a terrestrial horizon and their change over time (after Turner, 2007). Geomorphometrics techniques have many applications, not only can they be used to help identify landform features through analysis of digital elevation model (DEM) elevation characteristics, but they may also be used in hazard modelling, access mapping and landscape evaluation for many purposes.

Demonstration

This demonstration uses 50m resolution DEM (1:50,000 OS Panorama) data for a 2km x 2km portion of the North Yorkshire Wolds.
